Sacramento Jazz Cooperative Phases Out Operations

After a six-year run, the Sacramento Jazz Cooperative (SJC, Sac Jazz Coop), under the leadership of founder Carolyne Swayze performed its last concert on June 27, 2022, to a packed house at the Sacramento Dante Event Center.
The 501(c)(3) nonprofit is expected to dissolve operations by the end of the year 2022 formally. The organization’s mission is to preserve classic jazz as a cultural American art form. For the last several years, it has presented local, regional, and national artists at the Sacramento Dante Club, which has expressed a desire to keep the music playing by picking up the Monday night jazz format within the next two months. Carolyne Swayze has agreed to assist on a consulting basis as needed during the transition.
The organization’s IRS tax exemption remains intact, and all donations to memberships and ticket sales made to SJC will be honored through the December 2022 calendar year. You should always check with your IRS tax professional regarding contributions.
The Sacramento Jazz Coop thanks its members, supporters, and musicians who have performed over the years.
